​It began fifty years ago with a single look. When our founder first stepped onto the shores of Tinaga Island, she didn’t just see a beach; she saw a sanctuary. Back then, the island was a world of its own—secluded, silent, and wild. There was no electricity, no running water, and no path but the one made by the tide. Falling in love with the island’s raw beauty, she dreamt of a simple place where her family could escape the noise of the world. For years, "building" meant camping under the stars. The first sign of progress wasn’t a room, but a manual water pump and a single bathroom. Even as they continued to sleep in tents, those small additions felt like a triumph. Building on an isolated island was never easy. Every piece of wood and bag of cement had to be brought across the sea from the mainland. But love is patient. Little by little, year after year, the tents gave way to a small cottage—a place for her, her husband, and their closest friends to breathe. As the years passed, this private slice of heaven became the heart of our family’s summers. It was her nieces who eventually realized that such peace was too precious to keep to themselves. They encouraged her to open the doors to others seeking the same "Destination Relaxation." In September 2003, we officially became Calaguas White Sand Resort. What started as a single family campsite has grown to welcome 100 guests, yet the heart of the place remains unchanged. To our founder, this was never a business—it was, and always will be, a home to come back to when life becomes hard and you simply need a breather.
